Mission Partners and Agencies

We also love to be part of the worldwide church of Jesus Christ – supporting mission partners sent by our church, and mission agencies, in work across Oxford, the UK and the world. You can read about a few of them here.

Oxford Churches Debt Centre (OCDC) works with Christians Against Poverty (CAP). CAP is passionate about releasing people in our nation from a life sentence of debt, poverty and its causes.

There is poverty in every community. Hundreds of people are in need of free debt help. Thousands of families can benefit from budgeting and life skills. The UK Church is perfectly placed to tackle these issues.

If you are in debt, you’ve come to the right place. Thousands of people have already been given hope and a solution through CAP.

OCDC cover postcodes OX1, OX2, OX3, OX4, OX33 and OX44, helping lift people out of debt and poverty. Their work is run by a consortium of four local churches and by four part-time staff.

Prison Fellowship’s mission is to show Christ’s love to people in prison by coming alongside them and supporting them.

Through prayer and practical care to Prison Fellowship seeks to help, support and develop a Christian ministry to people in prison and their families.

We do this through our network of over 3,000 volunteers. We are currently ministering in all of the 120 prisons in England and Wales.

The Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies (CMCS) is an independent Christian-based academic centre where Christians and Muslims come together to learn from and about one another, and our respective faiths, in the context of living relationships.

CMCS aims to bring wisdom and hope in Christian-Muslim relations through transformed minds, by teaching Christians honestly about Islam, teaching Muslims honestly about Christianity, and supporting good quality research on the Christian-Muslim interface.

A Rocha UK is part of the international A Rocha family, a network of Christian organisations present in more than 20 countries in six continents.

A Rocha UK is a Christian charity working to equip Christians and churches to protect and restore the environment – for God, nature and all people. We aim to inspire individuals and families, equip churches and church leaders, build partnerships and manage land for nature and people.

In the face of accelerating climate change and species loss, we need more than ever to take action to protect and care for nature today.

In Oxford, it may be surprising to hear but one in four children are living in poverty. Low self-esteem and mental health challenges are limiting their future aspirations.

Many families are struggling to meet the needs of their children, and the recent closure of children’s centres has left a large gap in support.

Doorsteps Our work involves Find Your Fire, a bespoke youth programme to raise resilience and self-esteem in young people. Then there’s Doorsteps Youth Work in and around East Oxford schools. In addition, we work with the County Council and Oxford Diocese on supporting Under 5s’ provision in Oxfordshire. We’re also passionate about supporting churches in their work with children and young people.
