About us

We’re a church of people from all walks of life

We’re a welcoming, down-to-earth Anglican church made up of people from all walks of life. We seek to be authentic and friendly, and we long to make a difference to the communities around us.

It’s our pleasure to welcome you.

We welcome the transforming presence of Jesus into our lives, and want others to encounter the love of God.

  • On Sundays we worship together, exploring God’s Word, sharing bread and wine, and being open to the Holy Spirit.
  • Throughout the week we want to deepen our Christian faith, and live it out wherever we are. We are encouraged and equipped through belonging to Home Groups, coming along to monthly Deeper prayer events, and through other opportunities for worship and prayer.

It’s important to us to have a positive impact on the local community. There are a few ways we do this…

  • A popular Baby and Toddler Group.
  • Activities for children and youth.
  • Welcome lunches for students (and everyone else – we love to share company and food at St Clement’s!).
  • Monthly Café Club for those of maturer years.
  • Pilgrim and Alpha courses – for everyone who wants to ask, explore and find out more about the Christian faith, and why it matters.
  • CAP (Oxford Churches Debt Centre), founded with five other local partner churches, seeking to help release people locally from debt and poverty.

We’d be delighted to help with enquiries about baptisms or dedications, weddings and funerals at St Clement’s.

  • Baptisms or dedications – we’d love to chat to you about planning and going to a Church of England baptism (sometimes also called christening).
  • Weddings – if you’re getting married and are considering St Clement’s Church we’d be very happy to arrange to meet. Get in touch with us.
  • Funerals – marking the end of a person’s life can be a difficult time. If you’d like to talk to us about a funeral at St Clement’s Church please get in touch with us.

We support mission partners sent by our church, and mission agencies who work in Oxford, the UK and across the world. For example:

  • Oxford Churches Debt Centre – supporting people to overcome financial difficulties.
  • Prison Fellowship – showing Christ’s love to people in prison by coming alongside them and supporting them.
  • Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies – bringing Muslims and Christians together through dialogue and study.
  • A Rocha – a Christian conservation charity working to protect and restore the natural world.
  • Viva Doorsteps – connecting churches and organisations in Oxfordshire to respond creatively and practically to the needs of under-resourced children, young people, and families.
